Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify from the Contest and/or remove from displaying or publishing any Entry or Entry Material that, in its sole discretion, refers, depicts, or in any way reflects negatively upon a Contest Entity, the Contest, or any other person or entity or does not comply with these requirements or these Official Rules.

4. JUDGING CRITERIA/ FINALIST AND WINNER SELECTION
Eligible Entry Material will be judged, and the winning Entry selected, as described below by a panel of judges chosen in Sponsor’s sole discretion (“the Judges”).

  1. Judging Criteria. Entries will be judged against other entrants on the following criteria according to the percentage weights indicated: 1) how compelling Entrant’s reasoning is as to why you would be a good judge (60%), 2) creativity (25%), and 3) language use and style (15%) (the “Judging Criteria”). Each eligible Entry will be scored in accordance with the Judging Criteria.
  2. Finalists. The Judges will evaluate Entries that have complied with these Official Rules (“Eligible Entries”) based on the Judging Criteria. Each entry will receive a score based on the Judging Criteria. The Judges will select the top twenty (20) Entries receiving the highest total scores based on the Judging Criteria, and these entrants will be deemed “Finalists” subject to verification. In the event of a tie, comparing the tied Entries’ creativity score will break the tie. If a tie remains, comparing the tied Entries’ language use and style score will break the tie. Finalists do not win a prize, but will be asked to submit a video and may be eligible for consideration in the Final Judgement (described below). On or about April 1, 2019, Sponsor will contact all Finalists by email and/or telephone, using the email address and telephone number provided on his/her Entry and request that each Finalist provide a video submission within seven (7) calendar days of Sponsor’s request.
  3. Video Submission. Finalists will be required to submit a video describing why you should be chosen to sit on Judge Judy’s bench (“Finalist Video Submission”) within seven (7) calendar days of Sponsor’s request. Finalists’ Video Submission shall not exceed five (5) minutes in total duration (“Time Limit”). Finalists must submit their video via a designated BOX folder. Sponsor will provide a link to each individual Finalists’ BOX folder so that each Finalist may upload his/her video submission. Finalists will be disqualified from consideration in the Final Judgment if: (a) Finalist does not provide the requested Finalist Video Submission within the time requested; or (b) fails to comply with the Time Limit. Finalist Video Submission must comply with the Submission Requirements.
  4. Final Judgment. From among the verified Finalists, Judge Judy shall select one (1) Winner of the Contest from among the qualifying Finalists based on the Judging Criteria set forth above.

If any Entrant has any dispute with or claim against Sponsor, or if Sponsor has a dispute with or claim against Entrant, in either case arising out of or relating to the participation in the Contest or these Official Rules (a “Claim”), the parties agree to resolve such Claim through an individual binding arbitration or through an individual action in small claims court in the U.S. county (or parish) of your residence or in San Francisco, California. Class arbitrations and class actions are not permitted, and your Claim may not be consolidated with any other person’s claim. The parties agree that the U.S. Federal Arbitration Act governs the interpretation and enforcement of this provision, and that the parties are each waiving the right to a trial by jury or to participate in a class action.

Before either party may commence an arbitration or file a small claims court action with respect to a Claim, Entrant must first send to Sponsor a written notice of Entrant’s claim or Sponsor must send a written notice of Sponsor’s claim to Entrant ("Notice"). Entrant’s Notice must (1) be sent by certified mail; (2) be addressed to: CBS Interactive, 235 Second Street, San Francisco, CA 94105 Attn: Legal Department; (3) describe the nature of Entrant’s Claim; and (4) specify the damages or other relief Entrant seeks. Any such arbitration shall be administered by the American Arbitration Association and be conducted in accordance with its Consumer Arbitration Rules (the “Rules”). For any non-frivolous Claim that does not exceed $50,000, Sponsor will pay all costs of the arbitration, and reimburse any filing fees Entrant may be required to pay. If the arbitrator awards you damages that are greater than Sponsor’s last written settlement offer communicated before commencement of the arbitration, Sponsor will pay Entrant the greater of $1,000 or the amount of the award. This Contest, these Official Rules and any dispute arising under or related thereto (whether for breach of contract, tortious conduct or otherwise) will be governed by the laws of the State of California, without reference to its conflicts of law principles. Any legal actions, suits or proceedings related to this Contest (whether for breach of contract, tortious conduct or otherwise) not subject to arbitration as set forth herein will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco, California, and each entrant accepts and submits to the personal jurisdiction of these courts with respect to any legal actions, suits or proceedings arising out of or related to this Contest.
